Hey Reader, “Is there any risk to hiring a business manager from outside of the reader world?” That’s a real question we got when one of our earliest clients was in the process of hiring us. Our reply: It’s not only not a risk—it’s a major benefit. (This was several years ago, so now we’ve been around the block even more 😅) Here’s our rationale: We are results-oriented in a way that we know you are, too—but that we don’t often see elsewhere in the author world. A quick story to illustrate this: A while back, we posted an application for a PA position and got over 100 applications. Out of those 100+ applicants, guess how many provided a specific, tangible metric when asked about results they’ve created in their work? One. ONE applicant provided a stat to show the result of her work on social media. Not a single other person included a metric, stat, or objective measurement of any kind. We are not knocking PAs; it’s just a different perspective and skill set. PAs generally think of their work as tasks, while we think of our work with you as results-focused projects. We're constantly tracking things like:
But most importantly, we’re looking at how these numbers bubble up to profitability—the number one most important financial measurement in your author business. We present our findings to you monthly, in a recap email we do for each client. And the feedback loop goes both ways—we’ll be asking you for data and metrics from your end. (If you missed our email breaking down our monthly check-ins, click here to catch up!) This keeps all of us—you, us, and our team—on track and focused on the highest priority work. And it also allows you to experience the peace of mind of knowing your business is in good hands while you do the most important work: getting those words on the page. Cristina + Sara P.S. Are you sick of hearing us talk about our free team audits yet?! We’re not going to stop until you book one, so buckle up 😂 Book your 60-minute team audit here, so we can discuss the metrics that matter to you most in your business—and who is responsible for keeping an eye on them. (Read: Do you already have the right person in place, or do you need to make adjustments to your team?) If you need a refresher, we’re offering 9 After the first 10 are scooped, the price jumps to $300. Here's that link again! ⬇️ One more thing... Here's a handy link to send to an author in your circle who might also be able to use some insight into their team and business structure! We're thanking you now; they'll be thanking you later! |
